Hello!
Welcome to the thirteenth-ish issue of Blaxplaining, a weekly newsletter examining the nuances of Black contemporary life and current affairs. If you like this newsletter, please follow @blaxplaining on Twitter, and share it with everybody and their momma, and then some.
Y’all might have realized that there wasn’t an issue last week and there’s a good reason for that. Things have been looking good these past few weeks, so I wanted to take some time and relish in it. Also in the last issue, I detailed my feelings about the ruckus this year. And I’m going to be honest with y’all, I have nothing else to say about this year, or about politics or race...at least until after the election.
Don’t get me wrong. I love doing this newsletter, but I love my peace more. And if I haven’t learned anything else this year, I’ve learned that Black joy trumps everything. But I appreciate you all for sticking with me on this writing journey so far, and I hope to speak with you all on November 8th (hopefully when we have a new President and Senate majority leader).
Until then folks!
That’s all for this week. If you like this newsletter, please forward it to your friends (or enemies if you like being petty). And if you’re not a subscriber, go ahead and subscribe. Remember to wear your mask, partake in some self-care, and VOTE WISELY. Thanks for reading!
